Lori Heinel is an EVP and the Global Chief Investment Officer at State Street Global Advisors. As Global CIO, Heinel oversees industry-leading investment capabilities from index funds and ETFs to active, multi-asset class solutions and alternatives. She leads an investment team of more than 500 professionals globally. She is also a member of the company’s Executive Management Group, Investment Committee, and Risk Committee.
Heinel was previously the Chief Investment Strategist and Head of Investment Products for OppenheimerFunds, Inc. where she led new product development and created thought leadership.
Prior to that, she was Head of Investments for Citi Private Bank where she worked with clients to help them meet investment, liquidity and management needs. Before joining Citi, Heinel ran the Global In-vestment Products Group for SEI Investments, where she developed innovative strategies for institutional and retail clients.
Earlier in her career, Heinel managed new business development at Mellon Financial and was a Senior Vice President at Parker/Hunter Incorporated. She began her career as an analyst at Credit Suisse.
Heinel received her MBA from Carnegie Mellon University and her Bachelor’s degree in Religion from Princeton University and is a CFA Charterholder.
