Anna Marrs is Group President of Global Commercial Services and Credit & Fraud Risk at American Express. She is responsible for the company’s B2B payments, working capital and AP automation and spend management businesses serving small, mid-sized, large, and global companies around the world. Anna is also responsible for leading the team that oversees credit quality and fraud controls at American Express, helping to drive growth for the company by delivering continued best-in-industry credit and fraud results.
Marrs is a member of American Express’ Executive Committee, which is responsible for developing the company’s strategic direction and driving business performance. She joined American Express in September 2018 as President, Global Commercial Services.
Prior to American Express, Marrs served as Standard Chartered’s Regional CEO for ASEAN and South Asia and the head of the bank’s Commercial and Private Banking divisions globally.
Marrs serves as co-chair of the International Advisory Board for the non-profit organization British American Business. She was named to Barron’s 100 Most Influential Women in U.S. Finance list in 2021 and 2022.
Marrs holds an MBA from London Business School and an undergraduate degree from Northwestern University in Chicago.
