Girls Who Invest, a non-profit organization dedicated to increasing the number of women in portfolio management and executive leadership positions in the asset management industry, and the Aresty Institute of Executive Education at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania (“Wharton”) have teamed up to launch a new, private online financial education program. The Wharton Online Business Modeling Specialization and Influence Course launched in June 2018 and joins other online courses offered by Girls Who Invest.
Girls Who Invest is a non-profit organization which aims to see 30 percent of the world’s investable capital managed by women by 2030. To help meet this goal, the organization provides internship and career training programs for high potential female scholars. In its first two years of operation, Girls Who Invest has empowered 357 young women, sending a total of 90 undergraduates through their flagship 10-week Summer Intensive Programs. Girls Who Invest has impacted another 267 students by providing two additional online learning initiatives since last summer and will now include this new Wharton certificate program to broaden its reach.
Wharton Executive Education offers programs that are designed to build leadership capabilities and develop financial acumen.
Girls Who Invest has an existing relationship with Wharton Executive Education for its Summer Intensive Program, which began this year in May. This certificate program will deepen the relationship between both organizations and increase the number of scholars served.
The Wharton Executive Education program will focus on business modeling specialization and influence through an online platform. Areas of focus throughout the course will include: Fundamentals of Quantitative Modeling, Introduction to Spreadsheets and Models, Modeling Risks and Realities, and Decision-Making and Scenario Planning. Upon successful completion of the program, each scholar will receive a certificate from the Aresty Institute of Executive Education at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and earn the designation as a GWI Wharton Online Learner.
