Chandra Pappas Appointed as Chief Operating Officer of Nelson

Joe Madigan, CEO of the Nelson Companies, has announced the appointment of Chandra Pappas as Chief Operating Officer, effective April 1, 2022.

Pappas joined Nelson in 2017 as Executive Vice President. In her new role she oversees the company’s overall daily operations, including sales, field, marketing, IT, and business solutions. She will work with the CEO to implement Nelson’s strategic vision and values.

According to Madigan, Pappas’ strategic leadership, deep industry knowledge, and operational excellence have propelled Nelson’s impressive success and consistent achievement of business goals.

“Chandra’s foresight and relentless focus on innovative solutions have positioned Nelson’s retail and direct-hire businesses for phenomenal results, and she’s already leading our teams to great outcomes in 2022,” Madigan said. “We’re excited to elevate her expertise to the C-suite and look forward to her ongoing contributions to our company, our client and candidate community, and the staffing profession as a whole.”

Pappas’ career spans multiple leadership roles across international and boutique staffing firms. Prior to joining Nelson, she served as Senior Vice President of Randstad Professionals. Her over 20 years of talent management expertise focuses on developing and executing high-level insights and strategies that help companies gain market share, improve profitability, and elevate margin growth.

Committed to a diverse and equitable workplace, Pappas has been instrumental in cultivating Nelson’s DEI Council, which aims to impact both internal culture and the larger Nelson community.

Pappas holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Towson University, and she is the 2020 recipient of Nelson’s Chairman’s Choice Award. She was named to Staffing Industry Analyst’s prestigious 2021 Global Power 150 List, which recognizes women executives whose expertise impacts the staffing industry.
