Jennifer Zachary is Executive Vice President and General Counsel for Merck, where she serves as a legal advisor to the Board of Directors and Executive Team, leads the company’s Office of General Counsel and sets global legal strategy. Additionally, she is responsible for Merck’s global safety and environment and global security functions.
Prior to joining Merck, Zachary was a Partner and Associate at the international law firm Covington & Burling, LLP. She also served as Associate Chief Counsel for Enforcement at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and Special Assistant U.S. Attorney in the Civil Division of the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Columbia.
Zachary serves on the Board of Directors for REGENXBIO Inc. and Code the Dream, and she is a member of the bar associations of the District of Columbia, California and New Jersey.
Zachary holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Chemistry from Arizona State University, and a Juris Doctor degree from Harvard Law School.
