Andrea Jung Joins the Board of Rockefeller Capital Management
Rockefeller Capital Management announced Andrea Jung has joined its board of directors. Jung, an accomplished business executive and current CEO of Grameen America, is the third independent director to join the Rockefeller board.
“Andrea has extensive experience in business and finance, including 13 years as the chief executive of Avon and as a board director for blue-chip companies like Apple and Unilever,” said Gregory J. Fleming, President and CEO of Rockefeller Capital Management. “She will be a tremendous asset to our board.”
Jung is the President and CEO of Grameen America, a fast-growing microfinance organization in the US. She is the former Chairman and CEO of Avon, roles she held from 2001-2012 and 1999-2012 respectively.
In addition to Rockefeller Capital Management, Jung serves on the boards of Apple and Unilever. She was previously a director of General Electric and a supervisory board member of Daimler AG.
“Greg and his team are building Rockefeller Capital Management into a premier independent financial services firm focused on wealth management, asset management and strategic advisory,” said Jung. “I am pleased to contribute to its strategy and provide unique insights informed by my career, including as a longtime champion of women’s issues.”
As Avon CEO, Jung was the longest serving female chief executive in the Fortune 500, and consistently ranked among top leaders, having been named to Fortune’s “Most Powerful Women in Business,” Forbes’ “Most Powerful Women in the World,” and the Financial Times’ “Top Women in World Business.” Today, at Grameen America, her focus is to scale the organization to solve economic issues for women and their families across the country.
Jung is a graduate of Princeton University, and previously served on its board of trustees.
