Anita Woolley Nelson is the Chief Strategy Officer for Skanska USA Building, a leading construction firm in the U.S. She collaborates with leaders across the business to identify, develop and implement strategic and operational initiatives that ensure the organization’s health, resiliency and sustainability.
With 20 years’ experience in the construction industry, Woolley Nelson expertly analyzes complex external business factors—including sector trends, emerging innovations, and micro/macroeconomics—to chart a course for future strategic objectives. Her work informs long-term business planning, creates internal alignment and increases engagement with customers and partners.
Prior to Skanska, Woolley Nelson served as a strategy-focused senior leader at AECOM, where she developed and ensured alignment of strategic priorities, particularly integrated delivery, mergers and acquisitions and geographic expansion.
Woolley Nelson was recognized by Engineering News Record as a national 20 under 40 honoree for 2019 and a Top Young Professional for the New York region. She was also honored as one of Professional Women in Construction’s 20 Under 40.
Woolley Nelson received her MBA from the University of Nevada and a Bachelor’s degree in English and Communication from Wake Forest University.
